Player Code of Conduct
Land United Players Code of Conduct
Land United Futbol Club (LUFC) is committed to the long-term development of youth soccer players as well-rounded athletes, as well as productive and respected members of society. Excellent sportsmanship in the form of healthy competition coincides with an overall attitude of community awareness and the desire to be a good citizen. Each player is required to follow LUFC’s Code of Conduct values and each parent/guardian is expected to help enforce these values:
-
LUFC Players understand that soccer is a team sport and any absences, whether from practice or games, affects the overall team. Players unable to attend a practice or game will notify their coach (through text, phone, or TeamSnap) as soon as the coming absence is known.
-
LUFC Players will not intentionally hit, kick, trip, foul, slide tackle, etc., a teammate. Similarly players will not use abusive language, taunt, or tease a teammate.
-
LUFC Players will show respect to the referees at all times. Players will not show any dissent to a referee or verbalize frustration for a non-call. Players will accept responsibility for all fouls issued. Players will positively acknowledge the referee’s efforts after a game regardless of the game’s outcome.
-
LUFC Players will show respect to the other team’s players. Players will not be allowed to taunt an opposing player in any form. Players will not retaliate against an opponent. Players will shake hands with their opponents (players and coaches) after each game.
-
LUFC Players will accept victory and defeat with dignity and respect for the opponent.
-
LUFC Players will show respect to their teammates, coaches, managers, LUFC staff, and their parents at all times. No exceptions.
-
LUFC Players will not use alcohol or illegal substances at any time.
-
LUFC Players will adhere to proper nutritional guidelines for practices, games and tournaments.
-
LUFC Players will work to promote a model of a top soccer athlete: good skills, sound fundamentals, clean and fair play.
-
LUFC Players will do their best in school and will perform to the best of their abilities. Behavioral issues or poor grades are not acceptable.
-
LUFC Players understand that it is the priority of our club to actively and positively contribute to community, environment and social responsibility; and as such, will participate in club or team functions and projects.
Respect yourself
-
I will come to practices and games with the proper equipment and understand I will not be allowed to participate if I do not have it. I will wear the proper equipment correctly throughout the entirety of practices and games.
-
I will develop my skill and body strength so that I can play the game to the best of my abilities.
-
I understand that a concussion is a serious brain injury that has both short- and long-term effects.
-
I understand that I don’t need to lose consciousness to have had a concussion.
-
I understand that any blow to the head, face, or neck, or a blow to the body which causes a sudden jarring of the head may cause a concussion.
-
I understand that if I suspect I might have a concussion I should stop playing the sport immediately.
-
I understand that continuing to play with a suspected concussion increases my risk of more severe, longer lasting concussion symptoms, as well as increases my risk of other injury.
-
I will not hide my symptoms. I will tell my coach, trainer, parent, or other responsible person if I am concerned I have had a concussion and/or experience any signs and symptoms of concussion following a collision.
-
I understand I will not be able to return to play following a collision where I experience signs and symptoms of concussion.
-
I understand I will have to be cleared by a physician or qualified medical professional, preferably one with experience in concussion management, prior to returning to play
Players that do not adhere to the code of conduct may suffer consequences for their actions including loss of playing time or sitting out games. Continued actions in violation of the code of conduct may lead to removal from the team/club.
